Hummingbird Helicopters is owned by an ex-North Sea and Air Ambulance pilot with nearly 20 years commercial flying and training experience worldwide. Our instructors are some of the best in the UK and we are proud to say that we maintain a 100% safety record.
Based centrally at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, Hummingbird will give you first class, customer focused, bespoke pilot training and exhilarating flight experiences. Through training at an international airport, you will be exposed to the world of commercial aviation, which will give you the skill and confidence to fly at any airport worldwide. We do not charge our customers landing fees, membership fees or any other hidden fees! There is no small print at Hummingbird.

PPL(H)
Obtain your Private Pilot Licence at Hummingbird. We offer a range of training programmes to suit your own budget and timescale. To find out where to start, please click the link below.
Type Ratings
When you’ve passed your PPL you can add different aircraft types to your licence, giving you so many new options. In only five hours you could be flying the 4 seater R44 Raven II or smaller R22 Beta II.
Night Ratings
This add-on for your Private or Commercial Pilot Licence is a truly exciting challenge. Your night rating will greatly improve your flight skills whilst giving you the flexibility to fly after sunset.
